Housekeeping Aide
Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must be knowledgeable in and demonstrate the ability to maintain the physical environment in a clean, safe and comfortable condition. Prolonged standing and walking. Requires frequent bending, stooping, stretching and requires moving heavy furniture
- Education: High School graduate or GED preferred.
- Experience: Previous work experience in housekeeping preferred.
- Certificate/Licenses: None

- Vacuum cleaner
- Shampooer
- Mop/bucket
- Broom
- Laundry cart
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for performing the activities stipulated in this job description or any other duties that are assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The employee must be able to perform these essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing a direct threat to himself/herself or to others. (This list may not include all of the duties.)
- Clean floors: includes vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, damp and or wet mopping, stripping wax and disinfecting.
- Clean and/or polish furniture, fixtures, ledges, heating and cooling units, etc. in resident rooms, recreational areas and offices as instructed.
- Clean, wash sanitize and polish resident and common area bathroom fixtures.
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathroom and entrance/exit ways.
- Clean carpets: includes vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing and disinfecting.
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting and spot cleaning as instructed.
- Clean offices, hallways, stairways and elevators.
- Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
- Discard waste/trash into facility dumpster. (May involve lifting heavy trash bags.)
- Maintain equipment in proper working condition and document and notify Supervisor of all hazardous conditions or equipment.
- Clean and properly store all equipment at the end of the shift.
- Inform Supervisor of supply needs.
- Replace burned out light bulbs.
- Maintain common area furniture in proper positions.
- Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
- Follow work and cleaning schedules.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Attend departmental and staff meetings as directed.
- Move heavy furniture and equipment.
